You were in my dream last night, started as a scary dream last night, started in a hallway with no lights. There was a man chasing me with a nail gun but it's not a nail gun, his hand is a nail gun. Now I'm in a diner, I'm sitting in a booth and I'm sitting next to you and you're sitting next to me and I think that you were smiling. I remember you were smiling. Then there was a movie on a big projector screen. I don't know what was playing but I remember I was nervous 'cause I wanna put my arm around you and the courage came and then I did and then you leaned your head against my shoulder and we were happy and I woke up smiling.

Just inspiring combination of emo-jazz in its purest form. Lyrically it goes over interesting ideas of multiculturalism, parental issues and generational trauma in some of the best ways I've heard in a while. All of the instrumental sections are just beautiful and both singers are outstanding. My favorite moments are probably the almost-yelling section halfway through "I'm From Here" and the horn sections on "Quirk".

This is album is like nothing I've ever heard. I love how the dissonance turns into cohesion and then proceeds to flow between the two. The jazziness of it, the tenderness of it, the lightheartedness of the sound in places...it really astounds me. I wish I could listen to it for the first time again.
